History
The ASCE Student Chapter, CUET was established on 21 November 2020 under the guidance of Professor Dr. Ayesha Akhter with the vision of connecting civil engineering students at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) to the global community of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). As the second ASCE Student Chapter in Bangladesh, it was founded to enhance students technical knowledge, leadership skills, professional ethics, and engagement with the civil engineering profession. The inaugural Executive Committee, formed in 2021, was led by Md. Rezwanur Rahman as President, Md. Merajul Islam as Vice President, and Azmaeen Rahman as Secretary. Under their leadership, the chapter laid a strong foundation for academic and professional activities, creating opportunities for students to collaborate, learn, and grow beyond the classroom. Since its inception, the chapter has successfully organized several flagship events, including Envision 1.0, Envision 2.0, Renaissance, and Odyssey, along with numerous seminars, webinars, technical workshops, field visits, and industrial tours. These initiatives have strengthened students practical knowledge, encouraged innovation, and fostered meaningful connections between academia and industry. Today, the ASCE Student Chapter, CUET continues to empower future civil engineers through technical excellence, leadership development, and professional networking while upholding ASCE's commitment to advancing the civil engineering profession and serving society.
