G-Coaster Competition
Design the ride. Master the motion.
Build the concept.
Engineer the ride.
G-Coaster is an engineering-based ASCE competition where student teams design and build a functional roller coaster model using paper and their knowledge of mechanics.
Participants apply principles of motion, forces, energy, stability, and structural design to create an innovative and efficient coaster that successfully completes the designated track.
Projects are evaluated based on design, functionality, structural stability, creativity, engineering approach, and overall performance.
Turn mechanics
into motion.
Design
Develop an innovative coaster design that effectively combines engineering principles with creative thinking.
Functionality
Create a functional model capable of successfully completing the designated track.
Structural Stability
Apply structural and mechanical principles to maintain stability and reliability throughout the ride.
Creativity & Performance
Demonstrate creative engineering, efficient design, and strong overall performance.
Everything you
need to begin.
Design the motion.
Engineer the experience.
Design. Build. Perform.
